Stevenage 2s went to Bishops Stortford with 11 players. Stevenage battled well and won the first short corner of the game. Bishops Stortford countered well and we're able to score from their first short corner effort. Unfortunately, before half time Stevenage were down to 10 players on the pitch when Daisy received an injury to the head. Bishops Stortford were unable to capitalise or score again due to excellent grit and determination from Stevenage. The second half saw Bishops Stortford score their second goal, despite excellent keeping from April and great defensive work from Jo and Jess. A high ball to the head, quickly followed by a high ball to the chest saw Jess having to go off the pitch, leaving Stevenage with just 9 players. We battled so hard and prevented continued pressure from Storford from turning into another goal until the last stages of the second half when they managed to score their third and final goal of the game. A great team effort by Stevenage.
