Jasmyn (3), Nicola George, Melanie Retberg

After being promoted to Five Counties Division 3 last season we were expecting a tough season but the team have showed amazing team spirit. Our regular juniors; Evelyn Jasmyn Josie and Katherine plus Frances and Saran have been integral in the team gaining promotion with 3 weeks to go!
Saturday’s game was a Walk Over as Broxbourne were unable to field a side but we played a friendly. The Team continued their momentum with Jasmyn scoring a hat trick and goal of the season, no idea how she found the goal from the back line!
Their midfield were continually tested with Kate Switters-Price distributing the ball well, as usual. Nicola George scored a fantastic short corner goal and Melanie Retberg slotted it home to make it 5.

In a rare lapse, the rock solid defence of Nicki George, Caroline Barter, Liz Siddall, Chloé Hazelwood and Superstar goalie Liana Griffiths (Nicola) failed to stop the Broxbourne forwards and they scored a consolation goal. Great running and pressure from forwards Kelly Switters-Price and Jo Thorpe (current SHC 5 counties top scorer).
Next week we have Saffron Walden 4s and the last game of the season on Saturday 21st March is against current League leaders Leighton Buzzard 3s @10am Nobel so all supporters welcome to cheer us on!! If results fall right that could be a battle for the title.
