M4's visited Saffron Walden hockey club with Saffron Walden 7's just sitting above M4's in the league table. With Kal Singh, making his league debut in goal for M4's and a back 4 of Anand Mann, Ian Noble, Chris Niewdach and Jon Parker. M4's started off well with the CM's of Tony Farnan and Josh Lake passing well. Xavi George in LM made some good runs down the wing with Alex Lake in RM passing well to the strikers of James Manning and Simon Russell. Martyn Binge came on and played in the LB position and made some good clean tackles to prevent Saffron Walden runs on the Stevenage goal. In the 21st minute M4's won themselves a PC that was struck by Ian Noble, Josh Lake managed to get his stick on the ball and M4's found themselves ahead. Unfortunately, Saffron Walden managed to find themselves an equaliser on the 29th minute to give a half time scoreline of 1 - 1 and hope for M4's first win of the season for the second period. Unfortunately M4's conceded 2 further goals in the 52nd and 57th minute despite good play from M4's and winning a few PC's that unfortunately weren't converted. M4's, however, had the last say of the game after a PC was awarded in the 69th minute with Tony Farnan converting to give a final scoreline of 3 - 2 to Saffron Walden 7's....overall a good team performance from all with M4's now having faced all teams in the league they now start to play their reverse fixtures visiting Letchworth 5's next Saturday before the Christmas break...PoM Kal Singh
