M4's faced local rivals MBDA looking to avenge on their 9 - 0 loss to them back in October.
With Mike Hamid in goal and a back 4 of Graham Spicer, Ian Noble, Kal Singh and Jon Parker M4's started well. Simon Russell, playing as sweeper, passing well to Tony Farnan in CM. The other CM of Mehron Kirk made some good runs in towards the MBDA D. Xavi George in LM and Lee Pickersgill in RM made some good runs and passes towards the striker of Harp Mann.
MBDA grabbed themselves 2 early goals in the 8th and 10th minute, however, M4's managed to find themselves a goal after Harp Mann struck a nice shot that went passed the MBDA keeper.
MBDA managed to find themselves a further goal just before half time in the 34th minute to bring a half time scoreline of 3 - 1.
Anand Mann played well in LB with Enzo Kirk playing well in LM. Geoff Trew, playing in his first game of this season, played well in the position of sweeper making some good runs with Alex Lake playing well in RM
M4's carried on playing some great hockey in the second period just as they had done in the first period. This was rewarded in the 56th minute with Mehron Kirk managing to get his stick on the ball after a shot went into the D giving himself his first goal for the club.
M4's created further chances for a nervy finish to the game in which they could easily have found themselves level including Simon Russell having a chance in front of the MBDA goal keeper which unfortunately wasn't converted and MBDA having a few chances themselves which was defended well by M4's.
Overall the best performance of the season so far with no one giving up.
The final 3 - 2 scoreline was the closest scoreline against MBDA since February 2024
M4's now face a rest weekend before facing Luton Town 3's in two weeks time...PoM...Mehron Kirk
