M4's played an early home afternoon fixture against Harpenden 4's with Mike Hamid in goal and a starting back 5 of Graham Spicer, Ian Noble, Pete Hindle, Jon Parker and Simon Russell playing as sweeper.
Unfortunately M4's conceded an early goal, however, M4's were not despondent and midway through the first period Lawrie Western hit the Harpenden 4's goal post after striking a shot from a PC.
M4's played some good hockey with Mehron Kirk playing well in CM passing well to the other CM of Lawrie Western. Josh Lake and Lee Pickersgill made some good runs down the wing and made some good passes to the lone striker of Harp Mann.
M4's were rewarded with their good play in the 32nd minute when Harp Mann managed to get a shot past the Harpenden 4's goalkeeper to give a half time scoreline of 1 - 1
In the second period Harpenden 4's scored an early goal, however, M4's continued to play some good hockey. Kal Singh played well as CB making some good challenges with Xavi George in LM making some good runs down the wing. Alex Lake passed well with Geoff Trew making good runs and passes towards the central midfield. Unfortunately Harpenden 4's scored a further goal in the 49th minute to give a final scoreline of 3 - 1....Overall M4's had good chances and several shots on goal with the Harpenden 4's keeper making some good saves similarly Mike Hamid made some good saves as well for M4's.
M4's now prepare for their final 2 games of the season with 1 away game and 1 home fixture to come....PoM Geoff Trew
