M4's faced an early morning away fixture against Bedford 7's in bright spring like sunshine.
With Mike Hamid in goal and a starting back 4 of Anand Mann, Ian Noble, Pete Hindle, Jon Parker and Geoff Trew playing as sweeper.
M4's passed well with Geoff Trew making good passes to the CM of Mehron Kirk and Josh Lake.
Enzo Kirk and Alex Lake made good runs down the LM and RM wings respectively and played some good balls towards the Bedford D in towards the lone striker of Harp Mann.
Unfortunately, Bedford 7's took an early lead in the 10th minute and added a further goal in the 25th minute to give a half time scoreline of 2 - 0.
M4's carried on playing good hockey throughout the game with Kal Singh making some good challenges on Bedford 7's breakaway runs.
M4's good play was rewarded in the 44th minute after a good pass from Mehron Kirk found the stick of Lawrie Western who found the bottom left hand corner of the Bedford 7's goal.
Both sides continued to have chances throughout the game with Mike Hamid making some good saves and Lawrie Western shooting with a left hand tomahawk that unfortunately sailed wide of the Bedford 7's goal.
Overall an excellent performance from all M4 players with a close final 2 - 1 scoreline against the side 2nd in the league showing how much the M4's have improved over the last few months...PoM Mike Hamid
