SHC ROUND OF COURSE

M3 were at the front of the queue for prizes as Tufty and Nick organised a great day at Stevenage Golf Course and raised funds for the Club. Niall was the winner but Life Member Phil, Chairman Ray and President Tony took the plaudits from your correspondent.

JOHN AUSTIN

Sadly the Club has learned that SHC Vice President John Austin, a player in the 1950s and 1960s and true giant in more than one sense, died on Sunday 1 April.

Suitable for all ages.
All that is needed is sports wear, shin pads and a drink. Sticks can be provided if required. Astroturf boots and mouthguard are recommended but not essential.

SHC Summer Sunday Sessions

Get your hockey fix over the summer and keep fit. Sunday open sessions (Junior & Adult) at John Henry Newman School have been very popular over the last two years.

Junior/Family Sessions – this is a free session, aimed at and with a focus on juniors and their parents but open to all. 10.00am-11.00am EVERY Sunday throughout the summer with a couple of weekends off at the end before September.

Adult Open Sessions – this is £5 adults, £3 under 18’s. All players must be age 13 at the time to take part. 11.00am – 12.30pm. Open to all levels, members and non-members - it is not a coached session, but fun, friendly mixed games. You will need to bring water, sun cream and red and white tops please.

Adult Open Session Dates: 20th May 27th May 17th June 1st July 15th July 29th July 12th August

ALL ENJOY GAU ALGESHEIM EASTER

Everyone involved in the Easter visit of our friends from Gau-Algesheim thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend. Games, tournament and extensive socialising were all successful and a great tribute to our 40 year friendship, and gave new hope for the next 40 years.
